At the end of October, 2009, we moved Valkyrie Weimaraners to Port Saint Joe, Florida, where my son, Scott, and his wife, Cathy, took over the breeding of our Weimaraners. We have built twelve state of the art kennels on our 3 acres just one mile down the road from our Gulf front home. Currently Scott and Cathy are living at the kennel site in a 24' camping trailer while their new home is being built.
Now that Ron and I are getting older, in body but not in spirit, we will be spending November through April at our beach home in Florida and then returning to Ohio in May to live in Norton until we go back to Florida each November. We are fortunate that both Ron and I can work from Florida because we are both computer specialists and our companies have given us permission to work remotely. How could life get any better!
Going forward, Valkyrie Weimaraners will be located in Port Saint Joe, Florida, to be cared for by Scott and Cathy who will continue breeding under our supervision. We will be downsizing in 2010 and some of our best dogs will be available for adoption.

We have built twelve side-by-side runs within a covered 30'x 60' cement-floored pole building. Each run is 20' and terminates in a 5'x5' enclosed dog house lined with rubber matting for softness that can be vented during the hot summer days. The runs are seperated by a 32" high cement block wall topped with heavy-duty chain link. The kennels are open and airy yet will allow each dog to have his/her needed privacy. A remotely located Silver Eagle 4.0 GPM @3000 psi stainless steel pressure washer will provide 260 degree hot water to disinfect the runs. Pressurized quick connects, located in each run, will facilitate twice daily washing. Our dogs are fed freechoice (feed buckets always kept full) and Lixits provide a constant source of clean cool water in each run. The entire 1800 sq. ft. of building is enclosed in no-seeum screening to keep all insects away from the dogs. Overhead fans provide a steady breeze when there is none. There is a 50' x 100' enclosed exercise area attached to the kennel. The entire three acres is also fenced for the dogs safety because this is a rural part of Florida and wildlife abounds. We also have a 1/2 acre pond that the dogs can use if any of them get up the nerve to take the plunge.
